Para la clase "Oral Presentations Skills" del curso intensivo de Inglés que realicé y como cierre de semestre, tuve que preparar un "speech" para ser presentado ante alrededor de 30 personas. Como entenderán la tarea representaba un grado de dificultad alto pues el discurso debía ser presentado completamente en Inglés con duración no menor a cinco minutos. Hago este post para recordarme lo difícil que fue tanto prepararlo como hacer el discurso.
Breakfast, The Most Important Meal Of The Day

According to many experts, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But sadly, this is the meal that many Americans skip frequently. Day a day, Americans are becoming in BREAKFAST SKIPPERS. As you know, breakfast is meal of the day used to recharge the energy needed by the body after the sleep.
Breakfast can mean many things to the Americans, but the real meaning of the word Breakfast is TO STOP THE FAST OF NOT EATING DURING THE NIGHT. It means breaking the fast. Nothing more.
Eating a GOOD breakfast not only SETS YOU UP for the day, this meal can help you for a long and healthy life. But no only that, it is well known that eating a regular good breakfast may actually make you smarter. A smarter American.
But, beside the facts, Americans argue three main reasons in order to skip breakfast:
Americans want SAVE TIME,
Americans want LOSE WEIGHT, and
Americans want SAVE MONEY.
Can you believe that reasons? In my opinion, there are no enough VALID reasons to be a BREAKFAST SKIPPER.
Today, I will refuse these reasons and I will convince you to be a BREAKFAST EATER.
First, Americans skip breakfast because they want to save time in the morning. This is the most common reason in the studies about this matter. Don't say you have not time for breakfast. Don’t say it.
Unlike the other meal of the day, breakfast only takes a few minutes to prepare. There are many of nutritious cereals to eat. This mean you only have to open the box and eat. I think this reason is just for justify the American laziness. Always, it is easier to pretend they don’t have enough time and have the perfect excuse to skip breakfast. For example, why not just wake up fifteen minutes early every morning or prepare breakfast the night before in order to take it every day?
IS IT REALLY SO HARD?
I don’t think so.
I am pretty sure in the morning you would not try to drive your car without gas. In the same way, in the morning, your body also needs fuel. AND GUESS WHAT? YOUR FUEL IS YOUR BREAKFAST.
Second, Americans skip breakfast because they want to LOSE WEIGHT. Oh, my naive Americans.
They believe that by missing breakfast they can reduce calorific intake and lose weight. But, this is a SERIOUS MISTAKE. Don't make that mistake, anymore.
Studies have shown that people who eat breakfast everyday HAVE LESS CHANCE TO BE OBESE.
For instance, people who needed about two thousand calories per day to maintain body weight, LOST WEIGHT WHEN THE CALORIES WERE EATEN IN ONE MORNING MEAL, off course BREAKFAST, and gained weight if they ate the same amount after the noon. Eating breakfast not only is important for weight loss and weight management, it helps to reduce the morning hunger.
Last, Americans skip breakfast because they want to SAVE SOME MOMEY. This reason could be convenient for some people with limited resources, but always there is the possibility that people spend much money trying to satisfy their hunger during the morning or the evening.
Americans don’t be stupid.
If you are having problems with money, for sure it is because YOU JUST ARE NOT DOING A GOOD JOB WITH YOUR MONEY. Indeed, SAVE TIME, LOSE WEIGHT and SAVE MONEY are the principal arguments that AMERICANS argue in order to skip breakfast. I think there are not VALID arguments to consider skipping breakfast as a good practice.
So, my fellow Americans, I am inviting you to NOT FORGET your breakfast.
Forget your work.
Forget your worries.
Even, forget your wife.
Forget whatever you want.
But, NEVER… EVER… forget your breakfast.
Por último me queda decir que a pesar de los nervios y de una perdida de memoria momentanea, el ejercicio salió bien al igual que la nota.
